Why This Role Matters
At vSplash, we design and deliver the digital face of thousands of small businesses every month through our global partners. As a Design Team Leader, you will not only create high-quality web experiences but also lead a team of designers to consistently deliver creative, user-friendly, and conversion-focused websites at scale.
This role is critical in balancing design excellence, production efficiency, team mentorship, and quality assurance. You will drive creative standards, coach designers, review outputs, implement feedback, and ensure projects are delivered on time while maintaining vSplash’s design benchmarks.

What You’ll Do
Team Leadership & Production
  • Lead and manage a team of web designers to deliver daily website design targets while meeting SLA commitments.
  • Monitor team productivity, work allocation, and delivery timelines to ensure smooth workflow and output consistency.
  • Support resource planning, shift coordination, and workload balancing across the team.
Design Quality & Review
  • Review and approve homepage and inner page designs before final delivery.
  • Ensure websites meet high standards in creativity, UI/UX, usability, responsiveness, typography, and visual hierarchy.
  • Conduct regular design audits and provide actionable feedback to improve team quality scores.
  • Ensure client feedback is implemented correctly and consistently.
Coaching & Team Development
  • Mentor designers on design quality, creativity, process improvements, figma best practices, auto Layout, naming conventions, tagging, and prototyping.
  • Guide team on design fundamentals — color theory, typography, spacing, accessibility, responsive design, and modern UI trends.
  • Support team members in solving design challenges and improving design thinking.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with copywriters, developers, QA teams, and internal stakeholders for smooth project delivery.
  • Collaborate with management on quality initiatives, production goals, and process improvements.
Process & Reporting
  • Track team performance metrics related to quality, production, WOW scores, SLA, and feedback trends.
  • Maintain reports on team productivity, quality issues, and training progress.
  • Identify process gaps and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and output quality.

Skills & Experience to Have

Must-Have
  • 5+ years of professional experience in web design.
  • 1+ years in team handling, mentoring, design review role and meeting strict delivery timelines.
  • Strong expertise in Figma (Components, Auto Layout, Design Systems, Prototyping).
  • Deep understanding of UI/UX, responsive design, typography, color theory, accessibility, and usability.
  • Proven experience reviewing and improving website design quality and developer hand-off best practices.
  • Good communication, leadership, and team management skills.
Good to Have
  • Experience working with U.S. clients / small business websites.
  • Knowledge of WordPress/page builders and design-to-build workflows.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted design tools or automation workflows.
